"Kittylung & EMBASSY is a collaboration between Chicago-based musician, Max Reikosky (he/him), and Portland-based artist, Toby Alden (they/them). After years of creating digitally art-damaged sound collages in the noise outfit michealcushion and producing ambient works under their respective solo monikers, Kittylung and EMBASSY, Reikosky and Alden have teamed up once again to create an album of atmospheric, electroacoustic pieces inspired by the environmental perils of the anthropocene. Stylistically situated somewhere between Cluster’s Kosmische experiments, 12k’s sleek minimalism, and the spacious psychedelia of MFS Records’ early trance recordings, Kittylung & EMBASSY manage to create sonic spaces that evoke both the eerie stillness of empty, post-pandemic dance floors and the uncanny soundscapes of a world forever transformed by climate change."
